ABC flies 19 va-Q-trainers XLx containers to Moscow

RUSSIAN carrier AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) transported a record 19 va-Q-tainers XLx on a single flight for biotech and pharma logistics.

The containers, weighing 15 tonnes in total, were delivered to Frankfurt onboard a Boeing 747-8F for onwards carriage to their final destination at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport.

ABC global director for pharma Fedor Novikov said: "This is the first time AirBridgeCargo has provided a logistics solution for so many passive containers on a single flight and we are delighted that the delivery was achieved so smoothly, seamlessly, and, most importantly, in compliance with our customer's expectations and requirements."

Global partner manager Will Staddon at va-Q-tec added: "Without our partners, it would not be possible to deliver such volumes at short notice and with such high quality. ABC's extensive fleet and network offer us great opportunities into the Russian market and beyond."

ABC's pharma product offering saw volumes rise 80 per cent year on year in the first quarter, London's Air Cargo News reported.
